How to set up a new printer

1. Unbox and Prepare
  • Remove all tapes, plastics, and packaging.

  • Insert ink or toner cartridges.

  • Load plain paper into the paper tray.

  • Plug the power cable in and switch it on.

2. Choose How to Connect

You have three common options:

A. Wireless (Wi-Fi)

  1. On the printer’s display or buttons, go to network setup.

  2. Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

  3. Wait until the wireless indicator shows a stable connection.

B. USB

  • Connect the printer directly to your computer with the USB cable.

  • The system should detect it automatically.

C. Wired Network

  • Plug an Ethernet cable from the printer to your router.

  • The printer joins your network automatically.

3. Install Software/Drivers
  • On a computer, go to Settings > Printers & scanners > Add device (Windows) or System Settings > Printers > Add (Linux).

  • If the system can’t find it automatically, download the setup tool or drivers from the printer’s support page.

4. Mobile Setup (Optional)
  • On smartphones or tablets, install the generic print service plugin or the printer’s companion app.

  • Make sure both the device and printer are on the same Wi-Fi.

5. Test the Printer
  • Print a test page from the printer’s menu or your computer’s printer settings.

  • Check alignment, ink/toner levels, and connectivity.

✅ After this, your printer should be ready for everyday use.
